vacuum cleaner parts, bicycle inner tubes, office chair casters, scarf, wood, glue, screws and other materials
Vacuum cleaners often get thrown away after only a short period in service. This DIY Open-Source vacuum cleaner system recycles functioning components (such as motors, hose pipes) from a range of manufacturers. The hose slot can be 3D printed. Seals and vibration dampers are made from bicycle inner tubes, office chair castors as wheels, and the dust bag from a scarf. Detailed assembly instructions can be downloaded from www.instructables.com. (Final-year Master’s project, Lund University, Sweden).
